Which of these restaurants has Tampa’s ‘Best Burger?’

The clock is ticking down to the start of the third annual Burger Showdown, which kicks off Friday, 5 p.m., at Curtis Hixon Park.

The event features Tampa Bay area chefs battling it out in categories like Best Burger, People’s Choice, best Where’s the Beef? (for non-beef burgers), Bring the Heat (for spicy burgers), and Best Use of Bacon.

Eats! American Grill (the 2013 “Best Burger” winner)

Danny’s All-American Diner & Dairy Bar

Wayback Burgers

Green Iguana Bar & Grill

Jaymer-Que

Mike’s Smokehouse BBQ

The Empress Tea Room

James Joyce Irish Pub

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the event, and money raised goes toward assistance for culinary students at Chamberlain High School.
